Where are they now: Anna Maxwell – Learning with Confidence

Where are they now: Anna Maxwell

One of the most rewarding parts of working as a tutor is seeing where our students take the skills they’ve learned. We are always proud of the amazing things our students achieve and we love to hear from our past pupils. Anna sat down with Margaret to talk about her HSC experience with us and where she is now. Take a look!

When did you complete the HSC / IB and where?

I graduated in 2016 from Pymble Ladies’ College

What field are you currently working in?

I am currently studying medicine at UNSW

How do you now reflect on your final year at school? Have you changed direction since then?

I feel proud of the hours I put in and the discipline I showed, but also the way in which I strengthened my friendship with one or two key people at school who I still consider my closest friends 3 years on from high school.

I have changed quite a bit in my focus since graduation- I don’t focus as intensively on study because the effort I put in for my year 11 and HSC years was not supposed to be for more than those years- it wasn’t a sustainable lifestyle but was worth it for that time because I knew I needed to do well to get a place in medicine. Now I have other things to fill my life such as work and travel, and my life is a lot more balanced because of it.

We hope that you felt supported during your time with us. Would you care to comment on this?

Margaret Wall was like a mother and a friend, as well as a goddess of English wisdom all in one. When I needed her most, she was right on time.
